Global Location Number (GLN) from GS1
WORLDWIDE UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Every company that wants to post results in fruitmonitoring.com must have a Global Location Number (GLN) so that each participant can be uniquely identified. The GLN number is assigned by the GS1 organization worldwide according to a uniform system. The GLN can only be ordered from GS1, who submit an offer to each company.
The offer includes a globally unique identification number for the company (Global Location Number). On the basis of this GLN, your own identification numbers can be generated and thus items, packaging or other company locations can be identified.
For the machine-readable representation of these ID numbers, GS1 Complete offers tailor-made solutions for various application purposes, for example barcode-based data carriers such as the well-known EAN code or the GS1 DataBar. This is intended for the labeling of end-user units from 2014 and has been used bilaterally since 2010.
The “Global Product Classification” (GPC) standard adopted internationally in 2010 is also very important for fruitmonitoring.com . All analyzed products must be labeled in accordance with GPC in order to guarantee a clear assignment of the sample results to the products or product groups.

For the use of GS1 Complete with a global location number, an annual fee is charged, which is based on the company’s turnover. There is also a one-off base price for provision.
